There is this huge part of me that loves showing people that getting a great photo doesn’t always mean using mega expensive camera gear. Too many times I hear “that’s an amazing camera!” when I show someone the LCD screen. I’m pretty sure MOST photographers hear that a lot. I love showing that it isn’t the camera that makes the photographer, it’s the photographer that makes the photo.
While in Madrid I took 0 photos on my DSLR. That’s right. ZERO. (With the exception of the gorgeous workshop I took). Maybe I’m a fool for this, or maybe I just proved something to myself. Either way… here’s a snippet of those iPhone photos I keep talking about.
Taken and edited with an iPhone 5s and VSCO. Check out more of my VSCO grid: Jameykay VSCO grid
Liz White and I love to collaborate on styled just for fun shoots. She provided the red cape and dress and Joti Marra (Seven Swans) provided the beautiful jewels! Add a gorgeous Jacqueline and you get these photos! Enjoy!
Went on a little shoot last weekend with just two lovely ladies and a few outfits– nothing too fancy. This was my first “just for fun” shoot of the year which got me really excited about all other shoots to ensue. This is year is going to blow last year out of the water I can feel it!
Back in October we had a sweet little maternity venture with our friends Breigh and Lloyd. During Breigh’s pregnancy she kept a journal/blog going, Mountain Hearts, and whenever I felt blue I would go and look at photos of Breigh’s progressing baby belly and read the words she would write in anticipation of welcoming her and Lloyd’s baby girl. Granted, if I know you (or even if I don’t know you) and you’re expecting or you have a baby, I probably look at photos of you and yours when I feel blue. Seeing so much love gets me all mushy and happy. This effect also makes it difficult for me to get through maternity/family sessions because I can’t stop swooning. Oh boy! Enjoy the photos!
Arlie and I had a fun little afternoon with Lauren and UiJin, photographing Lauren’s baby bump and chasing the sunset. We love working with these two and feel so privileged to get to follow them through their major milestones together. Little baby Wyatt was born on October 30 and goodness is he one of the cutest babies ever!
