Well y’all… we got engaged!! On September 19th the man of my dreams knelt down on one knee in the field across from the place where I grew up. Arlie Tyler proposed with the full harvest moon in the sky and the mountains I grew up with below the moon. He held me tight while telling me how much he loved me and how much I mean to him. I could feel his heart about to beat out of his chest. Right before I was going to ask if he was okay he put his hand in his pocket and knelt down on one knee and asked me to marry him. When I said YES I immediately brought him up and we embraced, he let go laughing and said, “You haven’t even looked at the ring yet!” He was right, I hadn’t, because I absolutely couldn’t take my eyes off of him. Okay, I can barely type the story of the proposal without my eyes starting to leak tears of joy. Him and I have been together for three of the best years of my life. I can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together, growing old, telling kids to get off our lawn together, and loving each other so tenderly. We are so happy and excited!! Enjoy our engagement photos that we took ourselves! We went out on the Ranger to a place you can only get to on one, hence the photos of the Ranger
In May 2013 was little Arabella’s first birthday, Dorothea and Rod threw a party for their sweet daughter and what a day it was! It was an eventful day for Arabella and we got to celebrate such a beautiful child’s day of birth. Gaze into the cuteness that is Arabella (and Dorothea and Rod)!
p.s. that cake is the most delicious banana cake on this planet, Dorothea’s mom made it. When we got back home to Asheville from Charleston we fought over who could eat the rest of the cake she sent home with us. Mmmmm…..
Jackson is Tobey and Liz’s adorable beast, and he is such a sweetie! I love that Jackson got to be a part of their big day– he really seems to be saying “I love you, good luck! I will be here when you get back!” Can’t let them go without promising his loyalty and saying goodbye. Commence the baby-talk and Imma gonna go cuddle with my dog Fletch boy, as his sweet face always watches over me. Dogs are so freakin’ cool.
